Abbotsford Private Hospital is the leading Perth private mental health hospital specialising in dual diagnosis. We have contracts with the majority of private health insurance funds. Before admission, we will check your fund details.
If your private health insurance does not fully cover your stay, we will let you know your estimated out-of-pocket expenses. You will need to pay this before admission.
You are not required to pay the portion of your account covered by your private health fund. We will claim those benefits on your behalf. As part of our policy on informed financial consent, we will give you an estimate of your expenses and a form to sign.
Effective 1 April 2018, Australian Government changes to private health insurance coverage for mental health services will take effect.
If you an uninsured, self-funded patient, you will need to pay a deposit based on an estimated length of stay of at least one week in advance. Our Admission and Assessment Coordinator will give you more information about this as part of the admission process.
Abbotsford Private Hospital is able to liaise directly with the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) to seek approval and cover for your treatment.
As part of this relationship, we provide a range of psychiatric and mental health services to eligible veterans and war widows, including:

After you leave hospital, you may receive an account for other charges incurred during your stay that are not the responsibility of the hospital. This may include charges for medications not related to your admission or diagnosis.
